Located on the eastern edge of Sacramento near Cameron Park in the La Riviera area, Glenbrook is a neighborhood bustling with family life. La Riviera Drive is the main thoroughfare through the neighborhood, which is bordered by Highway 50 and the American River.
The streets are curved with many cul-de-sacs and speed bumps helping to keep traffic purposeful and relaxed. The neighborhood is adjacent to the very similar College Greens (in aesthetics, demographics and lifestyle), which is located just the other side of Highway 50. Homes are primarily single-family, with some townhomes and apartment complexes. All residences are lush with large, shading trees, and yards that are manicured and well-kept, but are anything but cookie-cutter.
The eponymous park is undoubtedly the hub of Glenbrook, with 17 acres of open grassy area, plenty of shade, soccer and softball fields, tennis courts, gazebo, picnic tables, play structures, and a very popular one-acre dog park complete with a doggie drinking fountain. There’s also the nearby Oki Park (in College Greens), which has a pool, and Larchmont Community Park. Isador Cohen Elementary and Hubert Bancroft Elementary Schools are not far and the area provides an easy commute to downtown, as well as easy access to all the major highways and the American River Parkway.
